Words of Inspiration & Motivation

"We know that teachers are the key to good child care - and as long as teachers are undervalued, American children, too, will keep getting less than they deserve" - Marcy Whitebook

“If you bake or cook, you probably know that some ingredients left out of a recipe don’t make much difference, but others, such as, sugar in ginger snaps, will ruin your creation. So it is with teachers. Even teachers who have experienced the best preparation and support for ongoing learning cannot demonstrate their competence absent a respectful and rewarding workplace.” – Marcy Whitebook

“To realize a new vision for young children – highlighting the importance of nurturing, structured, age-appropriate early education as a solid foundation for lifelong learning – requires connecting what we expect in terms of teacher competencies and education qualifications with the quality of the environments in which teachers live, learn, and work….” – Marcy Whitebook

  1. Hi Vondrea,

I read all of your great quotes. Some I found inspiring and one was a little harsh. The one by T. Berry Brazelton. Sometimes, that may be true that Grandparents can be a little much but for the most part my grandparents were extremely helpful and I don't know how I would have made it without my mother's input and unwarranted advice. She was right on point every time. Thank God for Grandparents.

  2. Wow, I really enjoyed these quotes! They are truly motivating and inspiring, but most of all packed with a lot of truth.

  3. Vondrea, I really enjoyed your choice of quotations. Especially Marcy Whitebook. Teachers really are "undervalued". I often speak with my cohorts about the large salaries of celebrities compared to the small salaries of those who helped to shape their lives.
